Numbers Count Autumn Term

November 30th, 2009 by mrs_morawski

As Christmas fast approaches, so too does the end of this first term of Numbers Count. Within the NC lessons the four children have made noticeable progress in their confidence and ability but the impact of NC has, I am very pleased to say, been noticed in daily class maths lessons and two of the four have already been moved up a group for maths! They have all been really enthusiastic and so too have all their parents who have been very supportive. Early on I was told by the Yellow Class team that one child had begun to take a much more active part in his class maths lessons and as his NC teacher, I really appreciated this feedback. I’ll miss working every day with these four wonderful children as we’ve had a great time together but I will still keep in close contact with them and follow their progress through the rest of Year 2 and into Year 3.
Once this group’s Exit assessments have been completed I will be meeting up with parents of the next four children to take part in the NC intervention throughout next term.
I have very much enjoyed learning from fellow NC teachers and NC leaders this term and improving my own skills and resources. I am very glad to have been offered this important role in Bridge Hall Primary School.
I hope to be posting some pictures here on this blog soon to illustrate some of the things we have been doing in NC lessons.
